ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish central government's gross debt stock totaled 3.62 trillion Turkish liras ($202 billion) as of the end of July, according to official figures released on Monday.
Data from the country's Treasury and Finance Ministry showed that the figure soared 78.2% last month from July 2021.
It includes the outstanding debt of public bodies, the Central Bank, private companies, and households.
Some 32% of the debt stock is denominated in Türkiye's local currency, while the rest is in foreign currency.
While 1.68 trillion Turkish liras ($94 billion) of the debt was domestic, some 1.94 trillion liras ($108 billion) of it was external.
The data also showed that as of July 30, the stock of Treasury receivables totaled 21.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.18 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 17.94 at the end of July.
