ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish central government's gross debt stock totaled 3.36 trillion Turkish liras ($205 billion) as of the end of May, according to official figures released on Monday.
The Treasury and Finance Ministry data showed that it soared 68.5% last month from the same period last year.
It includes the outstanding debt of public sector institutions, the Turkish Central Bank, private companies, and households.
Some 26.3% of the debt stock is denominated in Türkiye's local currency, while the rest is in foreign currency.
While 1.56 trillion Turkish liras ($95.17 billion) of the debt was domestic, some 1.7 trillion liras ($103.7 billion) was external.
The data also showed that as of Feb. 28, the stock of Treasury receivables totaled 21 billion Turkish liras ($1.28 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 16.39 at the end of May.
