ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Airlines and Turkish aid agencies hosted iftar, or fast-breaking, dinners across the globe Wednesday.

The nation's national flag carrier, Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) and Ziraat Bank Azerbaycan held the dinner under the auspices of Ankara's Ambassador in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The dinner, set up at Baku's famous Fevvareler square for the first time, will last three days.

Additionally, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) said it provided iftar meals to orphans and those who are abandoned in northern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province.

The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) held iftar dinner in Somalia's capital.

The foundation regularly distributes iftar meals to 350 families at camps in Mogadishu during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
