GENEVA (AA) – The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Thursday rejected Galatasaray's appeal of a one-year UEFA ban from European competitions.
On 11 March, the Istanbul football club filed an appeal with CAS after UEFA determined that the Turkish side did not comply with the body’s licensing and financial fair-play regulations.
In a statement, the CAS said: "The appeal filed by Galatasaray SK has been dismissed and the decision rendered by the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) Adjudicatory Chamber on 2 March 2016 has been confirmed."
Following the CAS decision, Galatasaray remains excluded from participating in the next UEFA club competition.
