By Ahmet Nurduhan

SARAJEVO (AA) -Turkish cuisine was promoted Tuesday in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of Turkish Cuisine Week.

Betul Akbal, second secretary at the Turkish Embassy, emphasized the healthy, creative and sustainable features of Turkish cuisine.

“Today, we aim to introduce Turkish dishes that are nourished by the deep-rooted history of Anatolia dating back thousands of years,” said Akbal at an event at a high school.

A cooking workshop was also held with the students at the event in Sarajevo.

Led by Turkiye's first lady Emine Erdogan, Turkish Cuisine Week is organized under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency and with the support of the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

Being held for the first time from May 21-27, the event aims to showcase Turkish dishes "with all their original qualities as the crown of our tables."
