Turkish cyclist Bekar joins Belgian ASFRA Racing team

Azize Bekar, 18, becomes ASFRA Flanders Racing team member, says Turkish Cycling Federation

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish cyclist Azize Bekar joined Belgium's ASFRA Flanders Racing team on Monday.

The Turkish Cycling Federation said on its website that 18-year-old female athlete Bekar would cycle for the ASFRA Flanders Racing team in international competitions.

Bekar's transfer to the ASFRA Flanders Racing team was completed with the approval of her International Cyclist Union (UCI) license.

The federation added that she would compete for Turkey's Karaman Duru Bulgur Performans SK in local tournaments.

There are now two female cyclists in the ASFRA Flanders Racing team, Nele Venneman from Belgium's Oudenaarde and Bekar.

The ASFRA Flanders Racing team is based in Oudenaarde, a Belgian city located in the Dutch-speaking Flemish region.
