Greek minister's anti-Turkey remarks 'lack manners, cognition and responsibility,' says Turkish Defense Ministry

ANKARA (AA) - The Defense Ministry condemned on Friday Greek defense minister's recent anti-Turkey remarks.

In a statement, the ministry said: "We strongly condemn Greece defense minister for his new statements on a radio channel, which lack manners, cognition and responsibility, and we are returning his expressions back to him."

The ministry added the Greek minister's statements had been provocative, especially at a time when the two countries were trying to cooperate with each other on bilateral and regional issues.

The aim of the statement is to destroy the efforts between the two countries, the ministry added.

Previously as well, on Dec. 3, Turkey had slammed Panos Kammenos's harsh remarks that targeted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Foreign Ministry had asked the Greek minister to act in a manner "befitting the dignity of his position."
