Turkish deputy premier named 'politician of the year'

Ankara-based media group chooses Numan Kurtulmus for accolade

ANKARA (AA) - Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus has been named “politician of the year” by a Turkish publishing company.

The Buhara Media Group recently held the seventh edition of its International Media Awards at the Sheraton Hotel in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Kurtulmus was selected for the accolade by award organizers for his political performance during the year.

Turkey’s Agriculture Minister Faruk Celik was also named “minister of the year”.

In addition, the deputy group chair of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, Mustafa Elitas, was chosen as “deputy group chairman of the year”.

Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkey, Sohail Mahmood, was named "diplomat of the year".
