ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish economy’s total turnover increased 6.8% month-on-month in August, according to official figures released on Wednesday.
The figure marked a turnaround from the 1.2% drop seen in July.
The construction sector posted the largest monthly rise of 10.7%, followed by services at 9.2%, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) data.
Turnover in the trade and industry sectors increased 6.3% and 5.7%, respectively.
On an annual basis, the total turnover index surged 130.3% in August.
“Industry increased by 123.7%, construction increased by 111.5%, trade increased by 127.3% and services increased by 160.1% on annual basis in August,” read a TurkStat report.
