ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish prefabricated buildings company Karmod has completed the installation of worker camp container structures at a gold mine site in Saudi Arabia, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The container units installed at a gold mine near the capital Riyadh will be used as offices and dormitories at the exploration site.
Karmod Container Export Manager Muzaffer Dogrul Erguclu said that secure container structures are increasingly preferred at mining sites.
Noting that the company produces highly ergonomic container structures for challenging mining environments, Erguclu emphasized that container buildings stand out in such areas due to their superior construction quality and ease of use.
"The gold mine site near Riyadh is located in a particularly harsh environment, where sandstorms are common. We therefore carried out customized production to enhance the durability and insulation performance of our container structures for desert conditions," he said.
"The structural frames were reinforced with connections designed to withstand high wind loads, while the insulation systems were completed using materials that prevent dust infiltration into the interiors," he added.
Highlighting that the project involved custom production for the Riyadh gold mine site, Erguclu shared the following details: "As part of the project, we produced 52 standalone container units. Shipped in demounted form, the structures were installed at various locations across the site in clusters of five and six units to form office facilities. Spread over a wide area to support exploration activities, the containers will serve both as offices and dormitories. The project also includes dedicated laboratory containers designed for analytical work."
