MERSIN, Turkey (AA) - A total of 10 suspects allegedly linked to the PKK/KCK terror group have been arrested in southern Turkey, according to security sources on Saturday.
In a statement, the provincial gendarmerie command said the suspects allegedly acting on behalf of the terrorist organization had been held in an operation after their locations were uncovered in the city center of Mersin province and its districts.
Digital materials and documents were also seized during the investigation, with all suspects taken to the provincial gendarmerie headquarters for questioning.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
