HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - Turkish forces have killed six PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari, a local governor said on Tuesday.
The Hakkari governor’s office said the deaths took place on Monday in ongoing counterterrorism operations.
The six were killed in an air-supported operation in the Urse-Cafer area of Yuksekova district.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
