ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was critical on Saturday of his Greek counterpart, who alleged that Turkiye was exploiting the situation in Ukraine which has been under Russian attacks.
"While the world is focused on the tragedy unfolding in Ukraine, my friend (Greek Foreign Minister) Nikos (Dendias) is focused on his sole hobby: Defamation of Turkiye in any condition," Cavusoglu said on his social media account. "Such dedication and so much effort put on such nonsense. So sad!"
Ever since tensions between Ukraine and Russia escalated, Turkiye has repeatedly shown a willingness to act in a mediator role, offering to hold a summit where officials from both sides could discuss differences.
