TRIPOLI, Libya (AA) - Libya’s eastern province Tripoli is hosting a Turkish goods fair.
The fair, starting on Monday, is a collaboration of 38 Turkish firms.
Türkiye’s ambassador Kenan Yilmaz was in Tripoli and participated in the event’s opening ceremony.
“The intense participation of Turkish companies and business people in the fair is a sign of the trust and importance for the Libyan economy,” Yilmaz said.
Due to its geostrategic location, Libya is both a gateway to Africa and Africa’s opening to the world, said Murtaza Karanfil, chairman of the Foreign Economic Relations Board’s (DEIK) Türkiye-Libya Business Council and chairman of the Karanfil Group’s management board.
“Trade with Libya is not just commerce,” Karanfil added, noting that Libya is the most significant African country in the hinterland of Türkiye.
