ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's unadjusted industrial production index is expected to drop by 6.8 percent for December 2018, economists said on Monday.

The 10 experts surveyed by Anadolu Agency predicted a decrease compared to the same month of 2017.

The unadjusted industrial production index in December’s survey ranged between a 4-percent and a 9-percent decrease -- an average of a 6.8 percent decrease.

On the other hand, in December, economists estimated the calendar-adjusted industrial production index will decrease 7.2 percent on an annual basis, and the seasonally and calendar adjusted index will increase 0.8 percent on a monthly basis.

Unadjusted and calendar-adjusted industrial production indices were both down 6.5 percent year-on-year in November 2018.

The seasonally and calendar adjusted index was also down 0.3 pct month-on-month in November.

The term "calendar adjusted" is used to refer to data where calendar and holiday-originated effects are removed.

The Turkish Statistical Institute is due to release official inflation figures on Thursday.
