ANKARA/ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish Intelligence Organization (MIT) "neutralized" two PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, security sources said Friday.
The terrorists, identified as Zehra Sebat, codenamed Rojda Azad, and Serhat Erdogan, codenamed Cirav Cudi, were located and targeted in the rural area of Iraq's Hakurk region, the sources said.
They were plotting a terrorist attack against Turkish Armed Forces personnel, they added.
PKK terrorists often hide in northern Iraq to plot cross-border attacks in Türkiye.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK— listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
