ANKARA (AA) - A Turkish female judoka, Kayra Sayit won bronze medal in the 2019 World Judo Championships held in the Japanese capital Tokyo on Saturday.
Turkish Judo Federation said on its website that Sayit, 31, beat her Brazilian opponent Beatriz Souza to earn the bronze medal in women's plus78 kilograms category in Tokyo.
In Saturday's semifinals Sayit was beaten by Japanese athlete Akira Sone, to finish in the third place.
The championships in Tokyo will end on Sunday.
