Turkish machinery exports begin 2023 with record gain

Germany stands out as main export destination in January

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's machinery sector posted a record annual rise in exports with 20.1% to $2.1 billion in January, according to a sectoral group.

The sector completed the last year with an export figure of $25.3 billion, up 9.6% on a yearly basis, revealed the Machinery Exporters' Association (MAIB).

The main destination for the sector's exports was Germany, with $273 million, followed by Russia with $165 million and the US with $117 million.

The increase in exports was 22.6% for Germany, 210% for Russia and 29.9% for the US.
