PARIS (AA) – A Turkish national has been identified among the dozens of people killed in a terrorist attack in southern France last week.
According to Turkey’s Consulate General in Marseilles, the female Turkish citizen – named only as Silan A – had traveled from Germany to Nice on holiday.
Previously Silan and another Turkish national were reported missing and it was feared they may have lost their lives in the attack.
At least 84 people were killed and nearly 200 injured when a 19-ton van ran into crowds late on Thursday during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice.
French prosecutor Francois Molins announced in a news conference yesterday that after an investigation, the identities of 71 fatalities had been confirmed among the 84 dead.
