ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s parliament speaker on Wednesday met with his Georgian counterpart in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Binali Yildirim and Irakli Kobakhidze held a closed-door meeting for almost an hour in Yildirim's office.

Following the meeting, Yildirim and Kobakhidze visited the sections of the Turkish parliament which were bombed during the defeated coup of 2016.

The Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which martyred 251 people and injured nearly 2,200 others.

Later, Yildirim also received Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Tufan Erhurman.

That meeting was also closed to the media.
