ANKARA (AA) - The Turkish parliament Friday will launch the fifth legislative session of its 27th term.
The general assembly, chaired by Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop, will convene at 2 p.m. local time (1100GMT) on Friday.
Later, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will deliver an opening speech at the assembly.
After Erdogan's speech, Turkey's new Education Minister Mahmut Ozer will take an oath in the general assembly.
This year, Sentop will not host an opening reception in the parliament due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The parliament will discuss the Paris Agreement on climate change on Wednesday.
Marathon deliberations on the 2021 budget will begin after a budget proposal is submitted by Oct. 17.
The planning and budget committee will be the first to debate the budget in November, with a vote in the general assembly slated for December.
