ANKARA (AA) - Prime Minister Binali Yildirim congratulated Anadolu Agency on the eve of its 97th anniversary.
In a statement, Yildirim said: “As the leading representative of objective, reliable and effective journalism, Anadolu Agency continues its successful services, both in our country and all around the world.”
He praised the agency, which broadcasts in 11 languages, and congratulated its employees in Turkey and abroad.
Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus also congratulated Anadolu Agency, calling it “a prominent institution in news, art and photography.”
Kurtulmus also highlighted Anadolu Agency’s Istanbul Photo Awards and noted that world-renowned photojournalists had joined the contest.
Founded on April 6, 1920, weeks before the Turkish Grand National Assembly convened for the first time, Anadolu Agency helped announce the first legislation passed by the Assembly, which established the Republic of Turkey.
Since then, it has come a long way in establishing its reputation as a professional, reliable and accurate news source.
The agency publishes news in 11 languages, including Turkish, English, Arabic, Russian, French and Persian.
