ANKARA (AA) - Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Wednesday slammed the burning of a Turkish flag during a rally in the Greek capital, Athens, terming it as an “unacceptable” act.
Speaking at a joint news conference with his Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus counterpart Tufan Erhurman in capital Ankara, Yildirim said: “An insult of the flag means an insult to the country. There can be no acceptable side to this.
“Our crescent and star flag is our pride. We are sacrificing our soul for the sake of this flag and we can mobilize all our resources for it,” he added.
The Turkish flag was burnt during a rally against Turkey organized by a racist political party in Athens on Monday.
