WASHINGTON (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will address a climate change summit Wednesday at the UN headquarters in New York.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will convene the summit to serve as a platform for world leaders attending the 80th session of the General Assembly to present their new national climate action plans and seize the benefits of the new clean energy era.
The summit will focus on demonstrating a commitment and accelerating action to protect people and the planet in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
It comes ahead of the 30th UN climate conference (COP30), which will take place from Nov. 10-21 in Belem, Brazil.
