Turkish president, Vietnamese vice president hold talks in Astana

Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vo Thi Anh Xuan hold closed-door conversation on sidelines of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia summit

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vietnam's Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on Thursday met on the sidelines of a regional summit in the Kazakh capital Astana.

No further information was released about the closed-door meeting, which took place on the margins of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit.

Türkiye and Vietnam are among the intergovernmental group's 28 member states.

Erdogan will later meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
