Turkish, Russian presidents meet in Ankara

Leaders discuss bilateral relations plus regional, international developments

ANKARA (AA) - President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday met in the Turkish capital Ankara.

The meeting, which is closed to the media, started at 7.45 p.m. local time (1645GMT) at the Presidential Complex.

The leaders will exchange views on bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments, particularly Syria.

After meeting Erdogan one-on-one, Putin and his delegation will be hosted at a banquet which will be followed by a joint news conference with the two leaders.
