ANKARA (AA) - A Turkish soldier was martyred in an accident in northern Syria on Sunday, the Turkish military said.

The soldier died in an accident near Manbij, the Turkish Armed Forces said in an emailed statement. No further details were provided.

To the west of Al-Bab, two Turkish soldiers were slightly injured in a Daesh car bomb attack and another two were hurt by shrapnel from a Daesh bomb elsewhere in Aleppo province.

Turkish fighter jets destroyed four buildings being used as headquarters by Daesh terrorists in the Al-Bab area.

Operation Euphrates Shield, launched on Aug. 24, has seen Turkish special forces, artillery, tanks and airpower support Free Syrian Army fighters in a bid to rid Syria’s northern border area of terrorists, particularly Daesh.
