Soldier sustains injuries in PKK terror attack in Hakkari province on Friday

HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - A Turkish soldier Saturday succumbed to his injuries sustained in a PKK terror attack in eastern Turkey, according to the governorship.

The soldier was heavily injured in a clash with PKK terrorists in Doganli village on Friday and died at a hospital in eastern Hakkari province, said the governorship.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years, resulting in the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
