Turkish stock exchange begins day up

BIST 100 index gains around 13 points at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 10,555.20 points, up 0.12%, or 13.11 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 fell by 0.94% to 10,542.09 points, with a daily transaction volume of 79.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.95 billion).

As of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.5730 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 46.8580 to the euro, and 54.1360 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,315.4, while Brent crude oil was trading at $69.4 per barrel.
