Turkish stock exchange begins midweek down

BIST 100 drops 26.63 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 10,787.48 points, down 0.25% or 26.63 points.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 was up 0.74% at 10,814.11 points, with a daily transaction volume of 117.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.81 billion).

As of 10.10 am local time (0710GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.2855 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.3415 to the euro, and 55.9120 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,643.85, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.75 per barrel.
