Turkish stock exchange begins midweek flat

BIST 100 index gains 5.71 points at Wednesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) -Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the midweek at 10,960.22 points, slightly up 0.05%, or 5.71 points, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 dropped 0.76% to 10,954.50 points, with a daily transaction volume of 100.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.46 billion).

As of 09.50 local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.7350 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 47.6730 to the euro, and 55.1070 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,355.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $65.98 per barrel.
