Turkish stock exchange begins midweek positive

BIST 100 index gains around 25 points at Wednesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the midweek at 9.473,60 points, up 0.26% or 24.71 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 jumped 3.36% to 9,448.90 points, with a daily transaction volume of 120 billion Turkish liras ($3.02 billion).

As of 11.10 local time (0810GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.7080 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 46.0880 to the euro, and 54.1280 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,330.50, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.10 per barrel.
