Turkish stock exchange begins midweek up

BIST 100 index gains around 29 points at Wednesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 10,645.12 points, up 0.27%, or 29.04 points, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 was flat at 10,616.09 points, with a daily transaction volume of 119 billion Turkish liras ($2.95 billion).

As of 10.05 am local time (0705GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.4514 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 47.5270 to the euro, and 54.7950 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,423.74, while Brent crude oil was trading at $68.05 per barrel.
