Turkish stock exchange begins midweek up

BIST 100 gains 22.8 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday, reaching 11,354.59 points, up 0.20% or 22.84 points.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 was down 1.19% at 11,331.75 points, with a daily transaction volume of 154.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.72 billion).

As of 10.25 am local time (0725GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.4430 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.8950 to the euro, and 55.9490 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,775.90, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.10 per barrel.
