Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday flat

BIST 100 index gains around 8.3 points at Thursday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,426.84 points, up slightly by 0.09% or 8.32 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 fell 0.32% to 9,418.52 points, with a daily transaction volume of 78.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.97 billion).

As of 10.20 local time (0720GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.7760 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 46.6980 to the euro, and 54.7990 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,340.40, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.60 per barrel.
