Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday flat

BIST 100 index opens at 11,223.74 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 11,223.74 points, up 0.03%, or 3.52 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 climbed 1.89% to 11,220.22 points, with a daily transaction volume of 162.6 billion Turkish liras ($3.91 billion).

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT) on Thursday, exchange rates stood at 41.6025 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.9225 to the euro, and 56.1935 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,869.50, while Brent crude oil was trading at $65.35 per barrel.
