Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday flat

BIST 100 index gains around 7.2 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 13,795.00, slightly up 0.05% or 7.19 points.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 was slightly down 0.13% to close at 13,787.82 points, with a daily transaction volume of 195.8 billion Turkish liras ($4.48 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.6495 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 51.9095 to the euro, and 59.6010 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,056.40, while Brent crude oil was trading at $69.1 per barrel.
