Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday up

BIST 100 index gains 25.38 points at Thursday's opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,763.07 points, up 0.24%, or 25.38 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 dropped 1.29% to 10,737.68 points, with a daily transaction volume of 152.6 billion Turkish liras ($3.7 billion).

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT) Thursday, exchange rates stood at 41.1200 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.1090 to the euro, and 55.4615 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,538.65, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.80 per barrel.
