Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday up

BIST 100 index gains over 31 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 11,317.94, up 0.28% or 31.14 points.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 decreased 0.55% to close at 11,286.81 points, with a daily transaction volume of 113.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.66 billion).

As of 10.10 am local time (0710GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.7335 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.2995 to the euro, and 57.2405 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,334.10, while Brent crude oil was trading at $60 per barrel.
