Turkish stock exchange begins Tuesday flat

BIST 100 index gains 6.9 points at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 10,741.77 points, slightly up 0.06%, or 6.90 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 dropped by 1.14% to 10,734.87 points, with a daily transaction volume of 117.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.82 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT) Tuesday, exchange rates stood at 41.7020 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.7750 to the euro, and 56.1495 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,960.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $65.55 per barrel.
