Turkish stock exchange begins week up

BIST 100 index gains around 48 points at Monday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 9,452.86 points, up 0.51% or 47.97 points from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 rose 1.12% to 9,404.89 points, with a daily transaction volume of 87 billion Turkish liras ($2.19 billion).

As of 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.9050 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 46.8580 to the euro, and 54.7785 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,294.80, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.55 per barrel.
