Turkish stock exchange begins week up

BIST 100 index gains around 60.3 points at Monday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 10,807.25 points, up 0.56% or 60.27 points from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 rose 0.04% to close at 10,746.98 points, with a daily transaction volume of 102 billion Turkish liras ($2.51 billion).

As of 10.15 am local time (0715GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.6710 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 47.0810 to the euro, and 54.0360 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,361.60, while Brent crude oil was trading at $69.50 per barrel.
