Turkish stock exchange down at close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index was down 1.96% to 3,060.30 points at close on Wednesday.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.4 trillion Turkish liras ($133 billion), with a daily trading volume of 70.5 billion liras ($4 billion).

Gold eased to $1,753 per ounce amid worries about the US Federal Reserve's aggressive monetary tightening.

Analysts are warning investors that prices could fall to last month's lows of around $1,700 as the dollar continues to see significant upward momentum.

Brent crude oil was around $99.52 a barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1640GMT), down 0.70%.
