ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 10,737.68 points, down 1.29% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 10,877.45, lost 139.84 points from the close on Tuesday.
The lowest point for the index was 10,612.31, while the daily high was 10,877.45.
During the day, 68 indexes lost in value while 32 closed with gains.
The daily transaction volume reached 152.6 billion Turkish liras ($3.7 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.97 trillion liras ($242.7 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 41.1605 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 48.1050, and the British pound traded at 55.3850.
The price of an ounce of gold was $3,563.40, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $67.45.
