Turkish stock exchange down at open

BIST 100 index losses 71.36 points on Thursday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,614.75 points, down 0.74% or 71.36 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 rose 0.28% to 9,686.111 points, with a daily transaction volume of 90.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).

As of 10.50 am local time (0750GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.3140 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 45.4040 to the euro, and 53.3495 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,344.65, while Brent crude oil was trading at $68.50 per barrel.
