Turkish stock exchange down at Tuesday's open

BIST 100 index falls around 50.5 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 14,011.20 points, down 0.36% or 50.52 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 rose by 0.92% to close at 14,061.71 points, with a daily transaction volume of 189.6 billion Turkish liras ($4.32 billion).

As of 10.05 am local time (0705GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.8520 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 51.6860 to the euro, and 59.1450 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,170.10, while Brent crude oil was trading at $71.60 per barrel.
