Turkish stock exchange down at Tuesday's open

BIST 100 index drops around 50 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 13,296.03 points, down 0.38% or 50.4 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 fell by 2.71% to close at 13,346.43 points, with a daily transaction volume of 186.2 billion liras ($4.23 billion).

As of 10.20 am local time (0720GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.9600 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 51.3325 to the euro, and 58.7680 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,315.7 while Brent crude oil was trading at $79.80 per barrel.
