ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index finished Wednesday at 5,345.61 points, down 1.64% from the previous day's close.
After starting the day at 5,443.83 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 88.90 points from Tuesday's close of 5,434.51.
The index hit a daily high of 5,450.33 points, while its lowest point during the session was 5,258.48.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was over 4.3 trillion Turkish liras ($231.8 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of approximately 106 billion Turkish liras ($5.6 billion).
During the day, 14 stocks on the index posted gains and 86 stocks recorded losses.
The price of gold was down 0.75% to $1,800 per ounce, while Brent crude oil price was at $82.66 per barrel for a 2.4% loss at 6.56 p.m. local time (1556GMT).
