Turkish stock exchange down at Wednesday's open

BIST 100 index falls 67.7 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the midweek at 13,729.36 points, decreasing by 0.49% or 67.68 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 fell 0.3% to close at 13,797.04 points, with a daily transaction volume of 189.1 billion Turkish liras ($4.33 billion).

As of 10.05 am local time (0705GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.6440 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 52.0230 to the euro, and 59.6810 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,062.80, while Brent crude oil was trading at $68.90 per barrel.
