ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index rallied at Monday's close, rising 3.45% to 5,392.31 points.
Starting the week at 5,244.17 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 179.93 points compared to Friday's close of 5,212.38 points.
The index's lowest value during the first transaction day of the week was 5,221.93, while its daily high was 5,428.34.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.4 trillion Turkish liras ($233.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 97 billion liras ($5.15 billion).
During the day, 87 stocks on the index rose, 12 fell, and one was flat compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,856.95, while Brent crude oil was sold at around $85.19 per barrel as of 6.57 p.m. local time (1557GMT).
